Graphic Artist / 2009 - Current

The Icebox - Atlanta, GA

  • As a senior member of five person art team, I help lead graphic concept development for screenprinting on apparel and embroidery on headwear for Delta Airlines, Hooters, the Truth campaign, Moe's Southwest Grill, Mellow Mushroom, MetroPCS, Auntie Anne's, and Cinnabon.

  • Supervised a team of freelance artists during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life sponsor back t-shirt program.

  • Used Adobe Photoshop to produce color separations for complex photographic designs.

  • Created color separations in Adobe Illustrator and communicated daily with the screen print department to ensure the quality of the final products.

  • Helped implement the print on demand t-shirt program for 300+ Hooters restaurant locations.

  • Worked closely with sales staff to design in-stock product catalogs with Adobe InDesign for Johnny's Pizza.

  • Served on the planning committee to help organize employee appreciation events and activities.

Jason Kochis Freelance Artist - Atlanta, GA

  • As a freelance graphic designer, I offer one-on-one design services to a unique clientele list. Freelance projects have included creating logos, apparel, catalogs, gig posters, color separations, postcards, fonts, toys, business cards, web banners, and website design.

  • Collaborated with Sony Signatures and FEA Merchandising to create apparel designs for the recording artists Nirvana, KISS, The Doors, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Poison, Whitesnake, Megadeth, Def Leppard, The Allman Brothers, Rage Against The Machine, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jessica Simpson, 38 Special, Foo Fighters, Brantley Gilbert, and Tim McGraw.

  • Worked with promotional teams to design screenprinted tour posters for the bands Dinosaur Jr., Superdrag, The Descendents, Nada Surf, Guided By Voices, Ozma, The Rentals, and Letters To Cleo.

  • Designed the official logo for the Mustang Owners Museum in Concord, NC. Also created custom souvenir posters and layout design for the official museum book.

Project E Clothing - Atlanta, GA

  • Worked closely with the company owner to develop t-shirt designs for their high end apparel line.

  • Created color separations with Adobe Illustrator and worked closely with the screen print department to ensure high production quality.

  • T-shirt designs I produced were fashioned by the celebrities Ben Stiller, James Roday, and Zach Braff.

Alternative Apparel - Atlanta, GA

  • Developed concepts and color screenprinting separations in Adobe Illustrator for Turner Classic Movies, CNN, Crunch Fitness, Universal Studios, and Indian Motorcycles apparel.

  • Designed catalogs and collateral materials for the various in-stock programs for Outback Steakhouse, Brand Old, and Gold's Gym.

  • Coordinated with sales staff to discuss project design, scope, and client expectations.

  • Contributed designs to the Brand Old apparel line that were worn by Jack Black and Jessica Simpson.

Expressign Design - Ann Arbor, MI

  • Produced designs in Adobe Illustrator that were type driven for vinyl signs and vehicle lettering.

  • Prepared vinyl graphics for application and installation.

  • Assisted in the manufacture of signs.

Action Integrated Marketing - Atlanta, GA

  • Responsible for creating weekly newspaper advertisements for multiple automobile dealerships.

  • Created web banners and printed collateral for the Repo Joe program.

  • Adhered to brand specific language and guidelines to complete projects under strict deadlines.

  • Contributed ideas during strategic and conceptual brainstorming sessions.

 

Accomplishments and Publications:

  • The Atlanta Braves selected my apparel design for their Atl Art Xfinity Artist Series. T-shirts and baseball cards of the design were promoted at an Atlanta Braves special event.

  • My design won an online design contest for the Coca-Cola / Play Imaginative "A Better Tomorrow" Trexi blind box toy series.

  • Circuspunks manufactured a limited edition set of my 3 knockdown dolls designs.

  • Worked with a team to curate a benefit custom toy show entitled "Swear to Save" at CBGB's in New York City. The show featured gigposter artists and toy designers.

  • Ten of my logo designs were published in the books "Tres Logos", "Los Logos 4", "T-Shirt Design", "LogoLounge Master Library, Volume 2", and "LogoLounge Master Library, Volume 4".

  • Eight of my custom toys were published in the book "Great New Characters".

  • "The Art of Modern Rock" featured and published my Superdrag gigposter design.

  • Voted by coworkers as The Icebox Employee of the Quarter.
